Yo Ho, Pirate Cake for me!

Hi guys, I thought I would post my latest cake creation. I just finished a really fun cake for some close friends of ours. Their little boy Mason turns 1 this Saturday and Rory and I will be out of town and miss the party. But I wanted to contribute, and when Sandee (his mom) mentioned she had little skills with cake decorating, I offered to "help out" with the cake.
Well I kind of took over, and she was glad to pass the responsibility to me. Sandee is totally obsessed with Pirates and why not, Pirates are cool! She is doing a pirate themed party and this cake should go over well. Note the little fondant anchor in the water, and the shark fins under the plank! The only non edible parts are the sails and flag, I made them out of paper.
I can't wait to drop it off tomorrow and see her face.
Drink up, me 'earties, yo ho.

Online Store!

After an intense 2 months of working with a web designer and many hours on the phone with "tech support". We have launched our businesses new online store! It has been long overdue as our previous website was simply an online catalog, and not very functional.
I have spent entirely too long in front of a computer screen and on Photoshop, but it all payed off. The store went live on Friday at 3pm and we received our first online order on Saturday.
As many people know working with family has it's positives and it's negatives, and one thing holding us back was the lack of online sales. But with a new generation of customers comes the new generation of sales. We are all very excited about the new store and we hope it brings convenience to our customers and is prosperous to us!

Valentines Day

Rory and I are happy to have a nice relaxing homemade dinner at home tonight after all those nights out this week. We had a busy last few days of birthday parties with quite a few friends.
Rory made me a beautiful and highly needed spice rack for my Valentines day present. It is the perfect size and just a work of art, the pictures don't do it justice. It is made from African Zebra wood and finished with a clear wax finish so not to take away from the beauty of the wood. I just Love it!
For Rory, I made a Lemon meringue pie that we will both get to enjoy tonight for dessert.
Happy Valentines Day!
